Gesine Köster was born and raised in the heart of the charming old university town of Heidelberg, Germany. After finishing medical school there, she spent a year and a half exploring the wild regions of Latin America, where she fell in love with the outdoors and her partner Conan Bliss. While she finished her residency in anesthesiology, they continued exploring the world, near and far. Hiking in the mountains became her favorite pastime, especially in her backyard, the Alps. Only working part time as a medical specialist now, she spends the rest of her time abroad, trekking mountain trails or wandering coastal paths.
